MORE ELIAS

Last week we realized that fourteen free episodes of Elias are still available via TV4Play here. Enjoy!

ONE EGGSTRA

What a great boho/budget alternative to the Georg Jensen egg! Perfect as an easter hostess gift, filled with dried fruits, nuts, and dark chocolate (with all the LCHF dieting everywhere, I don't dare to bring sweets). Made from aluminium and available at Indiska

ACCESSORIZING LAUNDRY LABORS

Speaking of summer dreams, these fabric baskets from H&M Home are welcome to move in with us to hold clothespins. Drying laundry outdoors, what a lovely thing it is.

FEJK

This is genius. A battery operated pillar candle that looks and glows like a real candle. Perfect for homes with little children! I first saw it a few months ago together with my mother-in-law in a fancy interior decorating store. We both wanted a bunch immidiately, but the price was outrageous. The same product at less than 1/3 of their price tag is now available in many hardware and home depot type stores. This one from Clas Ohlson.

SIGNS OF SPRING

The season for breathtaking sunsets has begun.

SOUNDS LIKE EASTER

Händel, Bach and Haydn has reigned over easter repertoires for centuries, but these are Scandinavian complements to the classical fare. Hymn contains beautiful jazz piano renditions of traditional Swedish psalms suitable for easter. Sorgen og Gleden are Norwegian psalms in softspoken versions. For the days we celebrate the spirit of easter but don't want to be in solemn mode: No.3. Click on the covers to preview.

LUCKY LIQUORICE LOVERS

Not quite the icecream lover my family wishes that I was (since I do the bulk of the grocery shopping), the frosty treats in this house are few and far in between. But this spring my one and only ice cream love has returned: Lakritspuck. It's enough to make me plan a trip over the border.

THE KITSCHEN DEPT.

I do love the illustrations of Björn Berg and how he's brought to life the rambunctious but sweet Emil of Lönneberga by Astrid Lindgren. Åry trays has licensed a collection of illustrations that make me long for bare feet in green grass, kanelbullar and saft (cinnamon rolls and lemonade).

NO MORE CRACKPOTS

I haven't yet given up the idea of attempting some sort of green thumb initiative despite the challenges the region presents. These pots for are frost-proof which could be a good starting point, considering my failed attempts last year. Cheap and hence justifiable despite previous failures. Cubes and cylinders available at JULA.

REIN-DEARS

kirkenes Norway_5

Optimal conditions for reindeer this year with plenty of food, moderate amounts of snow and a mild winter. I'm ordering skins from a local herder today, for the wooden deck behind the house. We'll sit there in the cold, soaking in every hint of sun we'll get. Tell the sun her rays will not be wasted here!

EGG ME PLEASE

I don't mind an empty easter egg this year. If it's this egg, that is. From Danish master Georg Jensen.

WAX ON, WAX OFF

Isn't this a neat idea? The iconic pattern Virrvarr from 1958, by Sigvard Bernadotte (you know we're a fan) now as waxed tablecloth for the table. Surface protection handsome enough to deck the table in between meals as well? Could this be a dream come true for all parents, or just for me? Available in 2 sizes at Designonline

GEAR UP FOR SPRING

In Scandinavia every child knows the mantra Det finns inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder (There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear). But it's unusual to find technical gear with a sleek urban look. The Ask & Embla range from Norwegian Helly Hansen strikes a homerun with me. A high collar and 3/4 length is every cold woman's dream. Ask & Embla features adult urban styles every season, combined with function and technology. By the way, did you know that the firm Helly Hansen was founded as early as 1877?

HOLD IT

Gardening in this region has its pecularities. This is the solution I've been looking for. A tublike tray for greenery that can be placed outdoors when temperatures allow, and easily brought indoors to the living room and placed on its stand on those icy spring and summer days. During christmas it can hold a small tree, at the party it can serve aperitifs, or on the patio filled with water and floating candles and flowers. Sideboard Judith availble in black and white from Mio.

I'M QUITE THE SHELFISH LADY

I remember the first time I entered the Norrgavel shop in Stockholm. The smell of wood, the sophisticated simplicity of the design, the genuine materials, the rich muted colour palette. I was twenty years old, and I explored every inch of the store as obsessively as if it was a dream I needed to remember in the morning. I mimicked the look in my next apartment with dirty-pastel walls and wooden furniture with white transparent glaze. I'm not the wealthy ascetic they market to, but their products still make me obsess. Especially their cabinets. I can't take my eyes off them.

ROUND 'EM UP

Isn't this a great basket? It's unexpected in both shape and colour lending it great versatility and style. It may be time to gather up and contain the remote controls in the living room. Available in 3 sizes from Granit.
