I love the starry hats the boys are wearing! I had learned about the crown and candles for the girls, but did not know about the hats.
The tradition with the cones on young men or boys are even older than the Lucia crowns. Male students used to carry stars and sing for money around christmastime, but were later incorporated into Lucia celebrations.
